OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 246!


Hi everyone: It's day 246 of omad and it's also my keto day. My daughter had the flu a couple of weeks ago and now it's my husband's turn. I haven't been sick for almost 2 years. I have been talking black seed oil. It has really helped with my immunity. The taste is not the best. However, it can be taken with water and raw honey. I don't mix mine because I'm a beast. I don't mind the taste anymore. My husband and daughter both hate the taste of it. Today I had so many errands and I had some work that I had to complete. Today's dinner was chicken breast on a bed of Caesar salad. My entire family ate the same meal. I haven't had a chicken breast in while because I have been eating steak.

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 245!

Hi everyone: It's day 245 of omad! It's Easter weekend and a tough time for chocolate and sugar addicts. Chocolate is everywhere. I haven't told all of my family members that I no longer eat sugar or chocolate made with sugar. I did get some chocolate eggs. My daughter graciously stated that she would eat them for me. At first, I said, "Ok" but then I changed my mind. I had only three chocolate eggs. They have been in the cupboard for a couple of days now. I am not sure why I can't throw them away but I have no intention of eating them. To get me through the Easter weekend I bought 5 Coco Polo Hazelnut chocolate bars. When I do buy them, I can't just eat one or two pieces. It's the whole bar of nothing. Thank goodness that the coco polo bars have zero sugar. It is sweetened with stevia and erythritol. I consider those bars guilt-free chocolate. I have been cutting back on eating them because I do have a chocolate addiction. My focus has been to eat nutrient-dense foods.  I will eat keto friendly sweets but once in a while because they are processed.
Update: As I am writing this...my daughter is eating chocolate eggs. Right now! lol
What's for dinner tonight? It has been a tradition for us to go to our fave fish and chip restaurant on Good Friday. However, last year it was pretty much a nightmare. The wait was ridiculous. The line was around the block. I am sure that place made serious bank. I don't have a lot of patience especially when I'm hunger. So this year I decided to make fish at home minus the batter. I made grilled halibut for my family and it was delicious. My daughter had hers with string beans and my hubbie and I just ate the fish! It was delicious!

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 244!


Hi everyone: It's day 244 of omad! Wow, 244 days of omad! I am so happy that I decided to keep this food journey. I don't like to track my food and count calories but I think it's great to keep a diary or log of what we eat. When I did the carnivore diet meaning I ate only meat, I logged what I ate and I was able to identify diary as an issue food for myself. If I wasn't keeping a journal, I don't think I would have noticed it. If you are starting your weight loss journey, please keep a food log. Another tip is to take before and after pics. When I look back at some of my old videos, it is really shocking...the changes. I think I have come a long way. So what's for dinner? Steak and oven baked bacon. My dinner was delicious. I am not experiencing any digestion issue. I am really about that. Thank you carnivore diet!

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 242! Surf and Turf!


Hi everyone: It's day 242 of omad! What's for dinner today? Steak and shrimp. Surf and turf are one of my fave meals. I usually make this at home because having a meal like this at a restaurant can be expensive. I seasoned my shrimp with salt, pepper, and paprika. Then I sauteed it with garlic and butter. I grilled my steak using my George Foreman Grill. I love my steak medium rare. So I cooked the steak on each side for 2 minutes. My dinner was delicious. I made my daughter and hubby shrimp as well. My husband only ate shrimp and my daughter had rice with her meal.

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 241!

Hi everyone: It's day 241 of omad! It's the start of my five days of the carnivore diet. This morning I went for an hour long walk. Then I started work. I work from home. I sipped on water throughout the day. I still take my black seed oil daily. I have decreased the amount of water that drink due to my new weight. When I started my weight loss journey, I was drinking a gallon of water a day. Drinking all that water was a great detox for me. 
Water along with black seed oil acted as an appetite suppressant because I got to a point that I was always hungry. The more I ate the more hunger I felt. I also wanted to prove to myself that I could do that challenge. Now that drinking lots of water have become apart of my lifestyle. The question I always get is how much water should I drink. I found an article online and the formula is. "It depends on your size and weight, and also on your activity level and where you live. “In general, you should try to drink between half an ounce and an ounce of water for each pound you weigh, every day. For example, if you weigh 150 pounds, that would be 75 to 150 ounces of water a day." https://www.webmd.com/diet/features/water-for-weight-loss-diet#1 I am currently in maintenance mood. So I am drinking about 64 ounces of water per day! 
What was for dinner today? You guessed it steak. I am still eating a steak a day during my carnivore week. Today's ribeye was massive. I think it was at least 2 pounds. Yum!

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 240!


Hi everyone: It's day 240 of omad! The last blog post I talked about the social aspect of my diet. Many of you are wondering about my support systems. My husband is a fantastic support and at first, I didn't tell him about intermittent fasting. I tried the diet for about a week and then I told him what I was doing. He was concerned. I showed him videos and articles. Only when he saw the results did he really accept my new lifestyle and he actually decided to join me.


I did have to speak to my daughter about intermittent fasting because she was concerned. She noticed I was only eating one meal a day. This was weird to her because she eats 3 meals with snacks. She thought I had an eating disorder. Once I explained to her what I was doing she was ok. She understands now that I am eating enough calories but all during one meal. 
My husband and I do keto and the carnivore diet but my daughter does not. He is teen. She has zero weight issues. However, due to our diet changes, there is not as much junk in the house anymore. Who needs the temptation? I certainly don't. This week my daughter requested Doritos chips and croissants. That is the only junkie food in the house right now. My daughter eats what we eat but I will add potatoes, rice or pasta to her plate. So she still eats carbs. That is what I'm trying to say. I have found a very supportive community on Instagram. I think that having a supportive community while losing weight is extremely important. It can be quite isolating doing this journey alone. I remember when I first did the four days fast. I could not have done it without the support of my Instagram friends. I was shocked that I was so strong. Doing that fast was a reset for me, especially with all of the things that were going on with my body. Please do your research about water fasting and check with your doctor before doing such a long fast.
So what was for dinner today? I had two omads. I had a double beef patty lettuce wrapped but I was still hungry. So then I had wings, asparagus, and baked chicken skins. I also had Halo Top ice cream for the first time. It is now in Canada. Yasss!!!! Finally!

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 239!


Hi everyone: It's day 239 of omad! It's the weekend. I love spending this time with my family. The weather is getting so much nicer. When I think back to last year, I had so many issues. I had no idea where to start and no idea...how to overcome them. I literally set an intention and here I am one year later and forty pounds lighter. My digestion has improved. I am no longer eating from the time that I wake up to the time that I go to sleep. I am happy and healthy. There were some major changes in my social life. I did take a break from my friends during my transformation. Meaning I did not see them as often. Some friendship I had to cut off completely. I realized that many of our social interactions revolved around food only. I had one friend in particular. We were both food addicts. I would say she gave me the hardest time about intermittent fasting when she found out what I was doing. I think because she had chosen not to change. However, I do have some friends that I didn't tell about my new diet. They are now asking me how I lost the weight. They are genuinely interested in losing weight too. I am so happy to help them. During my transformation, I didn't want to tell anybody what I was doing. I didn't want to deal with the judgment.  My advice to you is... Don't tell your friends and family about intermittent fasting. Wait for them to ask you how you lost your weight. Once they see the results it's so much easier. There are still many family members and friends that I haven't shared my diet with. 
What's for dinner today? It's Saturday which means it's my keto day! My family and I went to Swiss Chalet for dinner. I had a quarter chicken dinner with caesar salad. I also had a coffee with cream and molasses. I also had the bun with butter. I wasn't 100% keto but close enough. I'm learning to be a bit more flexible with my eating. I choose to do two days of keto because I love the healthier choices. I also have a sweet tooth. I love my desserts but I will keep them keto. I do not want to go back to the way I was eating a year ago.

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 238! How do I know that I am full?

Hi everyone: It's day 238 of omad! What's for dinner? I broke my 22 hours fast with steak, eggs and bacon. Fasting for such a long period of time and then actually eating is quite addictive. Food never tasted so good. The first three bites are incredible. I can truly appreciate the gift of food. My steak, eggs, and bacon taste so good. I had a bite of all three before working on my entire meal. This part of intermittent fasting is the most incredible part. Even when I was not eating clean and I would have for example pizza. Oh, my goodness pizza tasted so good. I can see myself eating like this for the rest of my life.
One the questions that I usually get is, "Lola how much do you eat at your omad and do you count calorie? The answer: I do not count calories. I don't have time for counting macros. After fasting for 22 hours, I just don't worry about it. I usually plan what I am going to eat the day before. The amount that I am going to eat usually fits on one plate. I tell myself that this is your meal for today. I eat until I am full. I rarely finish everything that I have piled on my plate. My eyes are bigger than my stomach. In the past, I had no idea when I was full. Now eating steaks, I actually can feel when I am full. They are so satisfying. During the week I have one fatty cut steak a day with another meat product. How do I know that I am full? I know that I am full when I am no longer hungry. Now ask a skinny person that question and I'm sure they will give you the same answer. It's a beautiful feeling to have your hunger satisfied. It is also wonderful to actually eat when you are hungry. The food tastes soooo good. During my fast, I know that if I crave something I can always have it at my next omad. I always remember how wonderful it is going to feel to have the first bites. Intermittent fasting has reset my body.

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 237!

Hi everyone: It's Day 237 of omad and it's Friday!!! Yay! This has been a long and busy week. I am so happy that tomorrow is Saturday. I hope this weekend goes by really slow! My weekends have been going by so fast! I am looking forward to my keto meals also. I have been doing my carnivore meals during the week and my two keto meals on the weekends. I also still eat one meal a day. As spring arrived, my friends have been calling to meet up for lunch. Last year I was going for lunch with my friends at least twice a week. When I started this journey, I would just avoid lunch dates and meet up for dinner. I would just have my omad for dinner. I did this to avoid all of the questions. Honestly, it is so much easier this way. My friends now know about omad but they don't know about the carnivore diet. I can hear the questions now??? Studies say this and studies say that! Where do you get your Vitamin C from? What about your Vitamin D? Anyway, I find that when others do not understand what you are doing. They seem to feel that they can try to talk you out things. So for now, they will be kept in the dark. Why wasn't I hassled when I ate junk 24/7?
Should I just go out with them for lunch and order a carnivore style meal. Sometimes when I go to restaurants and order just meat the waiter or waitress gives me a funny look. Sometimes they will confirm...only wings? They will also repeat. So you only want steak. No veggies? Also, ordering steak only has gotten very expensive and has left me feeling unsatisfied at restaurants. Let's just say that the steak only portions are very tiny. I have been making more home-cooked meals since starting carnivore. I love to cook but sometimes it's nice to have a break. I like the whole dining experience.

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 236!

Hi everyone: It's day 236 of omad! What's for dinner today? It's steak tenderloin with wings. My dinner was so yummy! This is my fourth day of the carnivore diet. Actually, I look forward to eating steak every day. The more that I do the carnivore diet...the more my body adapts to my steak meals. My body loves steak. I think that I function better on the steak. Especially the fatty cuts that I have been eating. I love the ribeyes, tenderloin, and T-bones. When I wake up in the morning, I am not hungry. I can go hours without food. No hunger. No hunger pangs. 
I can go until around 4 pm and at the point, I do feel hunger. However, it is not the feeling that I need to eat or else. This has a lot to do with my new way of eating. When my food was sugar based, by 12 noon I would feel like if I didn't eat I was going to pass out. So when I started this journey, especially the first day. My fear was that I would faint. I surprised myself by not fainting. I think that I owe some of this feeling to black seed oil. I believe that there may be something in it that suppresses the appetite. I am so happy that I found intermittent fasting and black seed oil. It is surprising how much time we spent eating or thinking eating. Now everything is so easy. I have so much more time.

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 365! COMPLETED! WHAT'S NEXT???

Hi friends: It's 365 days of omad! I did it! I ate one meal a day for one year!!! During this year I did do some extended fasting...
