OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 188! Day 3 of 30 of the Carnivore diet!

Hi everyone: It's day 188 of omad and day 3 of 30 of the carnivore diet. Last night I had a hard time falling asleep. I didn't sleep well at all. However, I still had great energy throughout the day. I think I'm going through coffee and sugar/sugar substitute withdrawal. 

My dinner tasted amazing. My steak was very satisfying. I also had grilled salmon seasoned with garlic, paprika and sea salt. The garlic was just for seasoning. I didn't eat it. I usually add salt, pepper and paprika to my steak. Would you believe that someone on Instagram gave me a hard time because I had garlic on my steak? Not today Satan! If you come across this something similar, don't let it phase you. So sorry, I like my meat to be seasoned. I'm a foodie.

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 187! Day 2 of 30 of the Carnivore diet!


Hi: It's day 187 of omad! It's also day 2 of 30 of the Carnivore diet. I'm going to document the benefits as I notice them.
Benefits: No bloating
I fasted for 20 hours today and had a 4 hour eating window. I ate steak, 3 eggs and 5 slices of bacon for dinner. I forgot to take some mct oil but I did take 1 teaspoon of black seed oil. I didn't sleep that great last night. I think I maybe going through caffeine withdrawal. As some of you know, I love my coffee. I could drink coffee but I can't drink it black. When I was doing the keto diet, I would have many keto snacks that had artificial sweeteners such as stevia. This is just a reminder that I am addicted to sugar and sugar substitutes.
I will be weighing myself day 30! Just in case you missed it. I posted a new video about my carnivore diet journey. I posted this video to keep myself accountable. I am hoping that I may help some of you, especially if you have tried everything and have had zero success with weight loss.

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 186! Day 1 of 30 of the Carnivore diet!


Hi everyone: It's day 186 of omad and it's Day 1 of 30 of the Carnivore diet! I'm going to succeed this time. Ok, I'm speaking this into existence. I got this! I'm reminding myself of the benefits...hair, nails, skin, digestion, weight maintenance, youthful appearance etc. I'm not usually hungry doing my intermittent fasting but today I was hungry. How strange? Maybe my mind is in panic mode because of the carnivore diet. I sipped water throughout the day. The hunger pangs went away as quick as they came. 
Tonight's dinner was grilled steak topped with butter and the steak drippings. Also five slices of bacon. I love to cook my bacon in the oven. I forgot to have the mct oil. Now my eating window is closed. 
I felt full very quickly. I could barely eat the bacon. I had about a 1/8 of steak left over. My daughter helped me out with that piece. No bloating. I am full but I am not stuffed. That's a great feeling. I drank about 2 liters of water today. I had about 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. I took my black seed oil 20 minutes before eating. 
Quick bacon recipe if you like your bacon crispy. The secret: do not preheat your oven. 
Instructions: Line your cookie sheet with parchment paper. Then add your bacon. Put your bacon in the oven. Set it to 400 degrees. At the 10 min mark, flip your bacon over. Continue to flip bacon every 2 mins until it is at your desired look of crispiness. Cooking time is about 20 mins depending on your oven. Remember to watch your bacon because it will burn easily. Enjoy

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 185! Starting Carnivore diet tomorrow!


Hi everyone: It's day 185 of omad! Today while I was editing a new video. I came across my first gallon of water a day video. https://youtu.be/bcHZV4-fbqA
Until I saw the results on day 7, meaning my weight loss. At the moment, I decided to try again to losing weight. It wasn't a lot of weight but I did notice that my jeans were slightly looser. I knew there was hope for me. Then I started to watch more videos about the benefits of water and weight loss. I noticed that apple cider vinegar videos were also coming up on my feeds. Then blackseed oil videos. Everything seemed to come together. Losing weight was a forgotten secret desire but it wasn't until I made the decision. Once I made the decision...the tools and the help to lose the weight just seemed to come to me. Flash forward to now. I feel so grateful that my health has improved and I feel so much better about myself. 
Ok, so what was for dinner today. Chicken wings with garlic grilled asparagus, kombucha, strawberries and sunflower seeds. Today I had all of my favourite foods for dinner. Why?
Starting tomorrow I am going to try to do the carnivore diet for one month. Here is a little info about the carnivore diet? It is a diet that consists of meat, water, and zero carb foods such as red meat, shrimp, fish, bacon, zero carb cheese, chicken. It is a stupidly simply diet. My only struggle with it has been boredom. The protocol is no counting calories, eat until full, and eat when hungry but you cannot eat veggies or fruit. Again this is a zero carb diet. 
Note to self: variety is key. Eat a steak a day but with something else...ie bacon or chicken. Mixed it up. I can do this!

Why am I doing this? My first attempt. I was successful for 5 days. Then the weekend came. I got off track. However, the Saturday morning of day 6, I weighed myself and I was at my lowest weight ever and I could actually see some definition around the stomach area. My skin cleared and my hair felt different and looked fuller. For the first time in years, I felt zero bloating in my tummy. I actually felt less anxious. I wonder if that has something to do with the zero sugar and no processed foods. So there is something to this diet. I really feel like if I can do this for a month. Then I will really be able to make a clear judgment. 
Challenge: No coffee...ugh as my daughter always says. I will still be eating only one meal a day. I have to make sure that I eat enough. However, one steak seems to fill me up quickly. I may have to extend my eating window to maybe 2-3 hours and also add mct oil. I will take it day by day. Yes, I know one T-bone steak is not enough. 

Here is my meal plan for the week so far:
Monday - one tenderloin steak with five strips of bacon and one tablespoon of mct oil
Tuesday - one tenderloin steak with three eggs, bacon and one tablespoon of mct oil 
Wednesday - one tenderloin steak with grilled salmon and one tablespoon of mct oil
Thursday - one tenderloin steak with three eggs and one tablespoon of oil
Friday - one t-bone steak with five strips of bacon and one tablespoon of oil of mct oil
Saturday - no sure yet...we usually eat out but I promise you I will keep my meal carnivore.
Sunday - one tenderloin steak with five strips of bacon and cheese

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 184! Halle Berry's thoughts on the keto diet!


Hi everyone: It's day 184 of omad! Today while I was on Instagram. I noticed this post from Halle Berry regarding keto! She has endorsed the keto diet and also recommends the Diet Doctor. I love this. Halle does look amazing always. Hmmm...I thought. Ok so that's why my acne is clearing up and I'm feeling great and looking younger. I wonder if she will consider omad and the carnivore diet. It is a step up from keto! Here is what Halle Berry had to say about the ketogenic diet! 

"Today let’s talk about food. I think the most important part of being healthy and in great shape largely depends on what and when you eat. Being diabetic most of my life, I have always had to take food very seriously. So for years, I have been following the keto or ketogenic diet. OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 182! Why people crave chocolate????

Hi everyone: It's day 182 of omad! I noticed that Dr. Berg posted this quote on Instagram. "People who crave chocolate are really craving the adrenal hormone serotonin. Lately, I have noticed that I have been craving chocolate and also greens. Mostly I have been craving coco polo hazelnut sugar free chocolate. 

I googled for the answer. This is what I found out. According to Dr. Berg, "If you listen to the body closely, it will tell you what it needs. You just have to know how to interpret the signs the right way! Sometimes, a craving for salty things, for example, does not indicate that you are low on salt. Likewise, cravings for sweets. Cravings can be a great indicator that something is missing in the body. In fact, we can use these cravings to pinpoint problems we are having within the system, such as nutritional deficiencies of some kind, that could be wreaking havoc on our overall health and weight loss efforts. If you’re craving sugar, then you’re not burning fat, you’re burning sugar! We don’t want that, right? We want to be in fat burning mode as much as possible. This is a strong indicator that we need to fix something in the system.
Usually, if you’re craving sweets, you’re deficient in potassium. Now, potassium is one of those nutrients it is very hard to get enough of in our diet. That’s because we need a whopping 4,700 mgs. of potassium a day.
Most people think, well, I’ll eat a banana. But you’ll have to eat quite a lot of bananas to meet your RDA for potassium because a banana only has around 470 mgs. of potassium. So you’d have to eat 10 of them. And that would completely wreck your health and your diet.
Instead look to low-calorie, potassium-rich dark greens and leafy vegetables. Beet greens, spinach, kale, garden cress, and Swiss chard have rich amounts of potassium in them, as do yams and bamboo shoots.  
You need 7 to 10 cups of these types of vegetables a day to supply all of your potassium." Dr. Berg
So this is what I ate today! Salmon seasoned with garlic, butter, oregano, thyme, salt, and lemon. Baked at 375 degrees for 15 mins. I also had a huge helping of steamed string beans. This was one of my favourite meals. What is your favourite meal?

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 181!


Hi everyone: It's day 181 of omad! I have been craving veggies and chocolate lately! What's for dinner? My lovely meal tonight was lettuce wrapped tacos with a side of bacon! It was heaven.

I also uploaded a new video. Many of you know that I have been experimenting with blackstrap molasses for the reversal of greying hair. This video marks 10 months that I have been on that molasses journey. I do put it in my coffee daily. However, when I did my carnivore challenges I didn't take the supplement at all. Also when I fasted I didn't take the molasses. Anyway here is my update. Please let me know if you have tried organic molasses for the reversal of grey hair. 

Here are some interesting benefits of blackstrap molasses:
According to Dr Oz, "Blackstrap molasses is a sweetener that's rich in iron and a variety of other trace minerals. In women who are anemic, iron can help to boost red cell production that might be contributing to low energy and fatigue."
According to Dr Axe, "Blackstrap molasses helps stabilize blood sugar levels, which can be extremely beneficial for people with diabetes. It has a low glycemic index and naturally slows the metabolism of glucose and carbohydrates — resulting in less insulin production. Blackstrap molasses also contains a high level of chromium, which increases glucose tolerance. Chromium plays a role in the insulin-signaling pathways that allow our bodies to control the amount of sugar we take in, helping balance blood glucose levels and giving us stable energy.

A 1997 study conducted at the U.S. Department of Agriculture suggests that chromium is an essential nutrient involved in normal carbohydrate and lipid metabolism. In the study, 180 individuals being treated with type 2 diabetes were either given a placebo or chromium supplements over a four-month period, while continuing to take normal medications and not changing eating habits. As a result of chromium treatment, insulin values and cholesterol levels decreased significantly compared to the placebo group.
This study did have patients continue their normal medications for treating diabetes, so it is important to note that chromium consumption seems to be only partly responsible for the positive results." Dr. Axe article
