OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 158! New Year's Eve dinner!

Hi everyone: It's New Year's Eve and it's day 158 of omad! I'm spending this day the way I always spent it. Dinner and a movie with my husband and daughter. For the last 5 years, we have spent it at Moxies. My meal started with shrimp tempura! It was delicious. 
Then I had my entree which was peppercorn steak. It was also delicious. 
I ended my meal with this beautiful carmel cheesecake topped with blackberry sauce. It was unreal. 
Then we visited Landmark theatre and saw Downsizing. It was funny and surprisingly good! We brought in the new year watching Dick Clark's Rockin Eve. Mariah Carey slayed. Happy New Year everyone! Wishing you all the best for 2018!!!!

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 157! Swiss chalet new menu item!


Hi: It's Day 157 of omad I tried @swisschaletca cream of broccoli soup which was topped with cheddar cream. Omg!!! It was so good! I think this is new. I also had the quarter chicken dinner dark meat with fries. What a lovely meal! My daughter had the chicken stir fry and my hubby had the double leg dinner with fries. I can't believe that tomorrow is New Years Eve! What are your plans?

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 156!


Hi everyone: It's Day 156 of omad and I'm feeling comfortable being back on track with keto.  One meal a day has become a lifestyle. I don't even think about it anymore. There is zero hunger. However, I do have to stay away from temptation. I had a huge Steak with brussels sprouts for my meal. I fasted for 23 hours. My daughter and I baked keto cream cookies by @divalicious_recipes for the first time. They turned out really good. So good! They tasted similar to sugar free stevia flavoured shortbread cookies without the after taste. Here is what I ate for dinner:

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 155! My carnivore dinner!


It's Day 155 of omad! My meal today turned out to be a 100% carnivore meal. Not one carb consumed today! I didn't plan this. Now if I could do this for one month. I would be happy. What's for dinner? Chicken wings and bacon!

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 154!



Hi everyone: It's day 154 of omad and I'm back on the keto train. I realized that when I was doing the carnivore challenge that I was actually doing the keto diet but minus the veggies. I was so excited to get back to eating my veggies, berries and of course what I missed most of all was my coco polo no sugar hazelnut chocolate bar. Yes, I did fail the carnivore diet but I did receive many benefits and I'm truly grateful for that. The major benefit was satiety, acne improvement, mood improvement, no bloating, full faster when eating red meat, hair strength and growth. I feel that if I continued with carnivore on a long-term basis. I would see more benefits. As I mentioned in my previous blog, timing is everything. Only eating meat mainly red meat is not easy. If you love food like me, then the lack of variety, colour, and texture will be an obstacle. Also, because I eat one meal a day I struggled with eating enough calories. I do not want to be in a major calorie deficit. I will attempt again because I think there is something to this carnivore lifestyle. Hmmm. I ate a gigantic hamburger stuffed with cheese, beans and a side of bacon.

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 152! Christmas Day!


Hi everyone: It's day 152 of omad! It's Christmas day! Merry Christmas my friends!!! I hope everyone is having a great day! I hope Santa was generous with each and every one of you.  My daughter and husband loved their gifts. This afternoon I had a beautiful lunch which was bacon, eggs, and coffee. My family and I have a yearly tradition of going to the Mandarin for dinner. Everybody eats what they want according to their dietary needs and choices. No dishes...no messy house to clean up. It's great for our budget. We arrived for 5pm and had a delicious meal. I started with turkey, roast beef, mash potatoes and gravy. Oh, my...this was the first time eating mash potatoes in about 5 months. They tasted great. Then I had some crab legs with butter. I finished my meal with dessert which was frozen yogurt and cheesecake. It was a great day. 

I noticed that this was the first year that all of us are healthy. Someone is usually sick with a cold or flu. We are all healthy and that is the most important. So this new way of eating is benefiting my entire family. What a blessing. 

I haven't weighed myself. I know that I have gained some weight back but interestingly...the new clothes that I bought still fit nicely. I have no regrets.

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 151! Christmas Eve!


Hi everyone: It's Day 152 of omad! It's also Christmas Eve! I fasted for 18 hours and decided to cut it short and enjoy a coffee and bagel with my hubby. We are going to a party later. I made the decision that I would indulge tonight and indulge I did. There were so many sweets and yummy appetizers. I had a bit of everything. But before going to the party I decided I would have my keto meal so that I would be full prior to the party. This was a great idea because yes I did indulge but I didn't go overboard. I physically couldn't. I was still so full from my dinner. Dinner was a huge steak with green beans. Dessert was coco polo hazelnut chocolate and homemade chocolate chip cookies.

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 150! Carnivore diet FAIL!


Hi: It's day 150 of omad! I'm so happy to be done with the carnivore diet! I'm a perfectionist so I must admit that it is really difficult for me to admit failure. Yesterday I bought my keto friendly veggies and fruit. I couldn't wait to chow down! However, I wanted to complete the carnivore diet. So I didn't touch the fruit or vegetables. As I mentioned in my blog yesterday, I was excited to weight myself but disappointed to see that I had gained back the 2.2 pounds that I lost and a bit more. So I am right back to 133 pounds. Sigh...So no more carnivore diet for me. I promised myself that I would not binge but get back on that keto train. I continued my intermittent fasting which is not a problem for me. My body has completely adapted. I had beef and broccoli for dinner and berries for dessert! I really missed vegetables and fruit. I was surprised that I didn't reap any of the benefits that my Instagram friends had mentioned. Why did I gain weight!? Even the woman that lead the challenge herself admitted that she wasn't strictly carnivore for the full 10 days. Could that have been why I failed? I wasn't zero carb either. I love challenges but this was a tough one. I think the timing of it was not great either. It is the holiday season. There are so many parties and the temptation is everywhere. If I do try this again, timing will be everything! If you have succeeded with this carnivore lifestyle, I would love to know. Please leave me a comment.

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 149! Day 10 the Carnivore diet!


It's Day 149 of omad and my last day of the #zc4xmas carnivore diet challenge. I'm bowing out early. The first week I lost 2.2 pounds. This morning I weighed myself and I'm up 3 pounds. My current is weight 133. Starting tomorrow I'm back to the ketogenic diet combined with my one meal a day protocol. I did this challenge to maintain my 130 pounds not gain weight or yo-yo. I think I would have been more successful if I ate ground beef and steak exclusively/daily but that's not in my budget. Good luck to everyone doing the challenge. I may try again in the new year with better supplies. 
I will be indulging and sampling non-keto foods on the 2 big days. I've worked really hard to lose all of my weight. I hope to keep it off moving forward. It can be a slippery slope for me. Happy holidays everyone. 
I ate bacon and eggs for dinner. Dessert was parmesan cheese crisps.

OMAD Intermittent fasting DAY 148! Day 9 the Carnivore diet!


It's day 148 of omad and day 9 of the carnivore diet! I had a very rough start to my day. I actually slept in. I woke up two minutes before I had to get my daughter to school. She ended up being late for her choir assembly. I was so off my schedule that I didn't do my Tae Bo workout. I also arrived one hour early to pick her up from school. Could this be the action of mercury in retrograde? Communication was certainly off. Sigh...I did fast for 24 hours. My meal was not 100% carnivore tonight. I couldn't bring myself to eat curry chicken without a little something..the compromise was a half cup of cauliflower. I love this challenge but my one issue is the boredom. As a foodie I love variety. I miss my keto friendly snacks and veggies. Especially my coco polo chocolate. Tomorrow will be my last day but I may try again January 1 for carnivore month.
